Homemade Vouchers For Christmas

by | Craft, Family Life

We have 3 teenagers and 1 pre teen and then Liam who is only 7 living in our house and I kept asking the children what they would like for Christmas. The answer I keep getting is I don’t know.

The teenagers are getting hard to buy for since they are getting older.

They always want to be taken to places like Bowling, the cinemas and rebound  (indoor trampoline play centre) and it’s always hard to agree on a movie to watch at home when it’s family movie time.

So I got thinking and decided to give them some experiences for christmas. This way I could also spread the cost over the whole year.

First off, I asked the children about places they would like to go on the school holidays, masking what I was doing.

I compiled a list of what they wanted to do.

Some of these in

Cinemas

Rebound

The Maze

Perth Zoo

Bowling

Lazer Tag

I added in the movie night the voucher, it said your choice of movie with $10 to spend on lollies to be shared. Also made some with morning or afternoon tea with mum and dad. Dinner with mum and dad as we don’t normally go out one on one.

I printed the vouchers out then backed them with their favourite colour card.  Divided the vouchers into 12 envelopes at least 2 in each, tied them up with a curling ribbon. There is a present for them all and it will last the whole year.

We have decided to pay each voucher as they use them.  If you feel this will not work for you, you can purchase vouchers from the venue to put in the envelope. Supermarkets also sell gift vouchers for the movie night with lollies.
