How to Make San Choy Bow

I have seen this recipe around and thought that it looks really yummy but I never made it. Joshua came home from school one day and said “look what I cooked mum” and he showed me the recipe and said “it’s so yummy”.

 

That night I went to the shop and brought Josh the ingredients we didn’t have and he cooked it for us. Oh man it was so yummy the only one not to eat it was Liam but he was asleep oh and Daniel was away like normal.

 

Daniel is now home and Liam should be able to stay awake so we are having it again for dinner tonight Josh is cooking so I get a rare night off.

 

Ingredients

1kg chicken mince

8 tbs oil

2 brown onions finely chopped

3 tsp crushed garlic

3 tsp ginger

4 tbsp fish sauce

4 tbsp teriyaki sauce

4 tbsp soy sauce

4 tbsp sweet chilli sauce

1 lettuce

 

Method

  1. Heat oil in a non-stick frying pan or wok medium- high heat. Add onion and cook for 3 min or until golden.
  2. Add garlic, ginger and mince and cook for 5 minutes. Stirring to break up lumps. Add fish sauce, teriyaki, soy sauce and chilli sauce. Stir well and cook for 2 minutes. Remove from heat.
  3. Fill lettuce leaves with mince mixture.

 

This is a really nice recipe and I would recommend it to everyone. Liam ate all the filling but left the lettuce he refuses to eat vegetables. I hope you enjoy this recipe like the rest of my family does.
